Our Inspiration, Our Guru — Founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga
Grand Master Choa Kok Sui — known to students worldwide as GMCKS or Master Choa — was born on 15 August 1952 in Cebu City, Philippines. Trained as a chemical engineer and successful in business, he brought the same rigor for testing, validating, and systematizing to his lifelong study of energy and spirituality.
Between 1983 and 1987, he devoted himself to synthesizing decades of research into a structured, teachable system. The result, first published in 1987, became what is known today as Modern Pranic Healing — a practical method for working with the body's energy field to support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Alongside it, he developed Arhatic Yoga, an advanced meditation system built around love, intelligence, and will, meant to accelerate a practitioner's spiritual growth.
For about twenty years, he traveled almost without pause, personally teaching students across more than sixty countries on six continents. He founded the Institute for Inner Studies and the World Pranic Healing Foundation to carry the work forward, trained the instructors who would go on to teach in his place, and wrote more than two dozen books that have since been translated into dozens of languages. He passed away in 2007, and the foundations he built continue to guide Pranic Healing practice in over 100 countries today — including the training every trainer at Gujarat Pranic Healing Group has received.
Every course we teach traces back to the system he built — meet the trainers keeping it alive in Gujarat.
